Duke Energy will be building a new transmission line within the Turtle Rock Community which will impact 3.76 miles of our current right of way called the Arlington Transmission Line Project. Duke Energy & Pike Engineering has already begun planning and pre-construction in our community. An initial letter from Duke Energy was mailed to each homeowner in our community on March 9, 2020.
Turtle Rock and five other subdivisions in the area will be impacted by this project. Duke Energy has a project website that lays out details of the project including the latest updates, schedules, and visual aids for the proposed design. The structure is anticipated to be a steel/concrete monopole structure approximately 70 to 110 feet. It is planned to run the length of our existing right of way and directly impact our entire community at large.
The Association board's goal is to keep our homeowners informed along with advocating for our homeowners and our community. Especially those (approx. 30+) homeowners whose properties will be directly impacted by this transmission line.
Duke Energy and Pike Engineering will be participating in our tele-town hall meetings to provide an overview of the project and answer questions you may have. All Turtle Rock Residents are invited to participate in a special tele-town hall discussion on the Duke Energy Arlington Transmission Line Project Impacting Turtle Rock Residents.
If you missed the the Tele-Town Hall meetings with Duke, here is a recording of one of the sessions.
Here is the presentation of that includes a map of where the three monopole power lines will be located.
